- Direct Investments: minority and majority stakes in mid- sized companies in Continental Europe, either privately held (private equity) or listed.

Our core team of 30 professional and support staff is essentially based in Luxembourg and actively covers our target markets of France, Benelux, DACH region and Northern Italy.
Missions
As an associate, you will be part of the Direct Investments team, focusing on DACH region. You will be supporting the team on both the sourcing and analysis of new investments, as well as ongoing strategic development, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of portfolio companies. The investment strategy is based on a fundamental analysis approach looking in-depth at companies, their industries, peers, and competitors. Working in an entrepreneurial team with a flat organizational structure, we expect you to contribute from day one. We operate in small teams (2-3 persons) which allows you to get significant exposure to target and portfolio companies. Your tasks will include the following:
Supporting screening of potential investment opportunities and in-depth sector research;
Supporting assessment of investment opportunities:
o Analysis of target companies and industries based on desktop research, discussions with industry experts as well as (target) company executives with a view on deriving solid investment thesis;
o Financial analysis and construction of financial models to prepare business plans, make valuation assessments and calculate prospective investment returns;
o Support due diligence processes.
Support drafting of presentations for investment decision making process;
Supporting senior team members in managing portfolio companies (e.g. work on ad-hoc strategic assessments, drive value creation initiatives, prepare internal status reports and prepare regular valuation updates).
Profile
You have a strong academic track record from a leading university;
You have a Master’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or any other quantitative discipline.
You have between 1 and 3 years of professional experience acquired in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate development / M&A, or transaction services (Big 4 or equivalent);
You have exceptional analytical & quantitative capabilities and strong attention to detail;
You master Microsoft Office tools (advanced Excel modelling and Powerpoint skills);
You are intellectually curious, hard-working, and you have a hands-on personality;
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
You have perfect command of English and French. German is considered a plus.
