Chief Operations Officer (Temporary mission)

    We are seeking a dynamic Chief Operations Officer for a 12 to 18 months mission, to oversee the day-to-day operations and growth of the Improbable Chair. You'll work closely with the Scientific Director of the Chair, Pr. Sylvain Bureau, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the chair's agenda. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, a passion for creation and innovation, and a good understanding of the academic sector.

    Mission

    1. Strategic Planning and Development:

    • implement the chair's strategic plan.

    • Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and funding.

    • Monitor and evaluate the chair's progress towards its objectives

    1. Events Management:

    • Oversee the operational aspects of the events organized by the chair :budgeting, resource allocation, and administrative tasks

    • Organise and participate in industry events and conferences.

    • Ensure the smooth running of the Improbable seminars and openings,

    • Training of trainers who will become Improbable instructors.

    • Coordinate with ESCP's central administration and Galeries Lafayette to manage resources and ensure communication

    1. Stakeholders Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners,

    • Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration between the chair and industry practitioners.

    1. Research Support:

    • Support the Chair holder and team in the execution of academic projects (pedagogical experiments, research projects, etc.).

    • Facilitate access to data, resources, and expertise from partners.

    • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications, events, and other channels.

    • Excellent leadership and project management skills: you can create efficient processes to support academic development.

    • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and you know how to leverage agile methods.

    • you can work with very different profiles: from artists to top executives.

    • Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships: you enjoy the development of a sustainable crazy-quilt of partners.

    • Capacity to understand the art worlds: you do not need to be an expert in art history or about the contemporary art markets but you are curious and you can learn how things work in this arena.

    • Open to the improbable: you can welcome unexpected situations and deal with uncertainties. 

    • Fluency in English and in other languages if possible
