As part of our development of new high-voltage equipment solutions, we are looking for a Senior Technical R&D Manager with recognised expertise in the field of high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and SF6-free technologies.

Missions

Main responsibilities:

You will act as the technical lead/manager for your field, working with our internal teams and our customers. You will play a key role in defining technical R&D directions related to high-voltage equipment and alternatives to SF6, leading innovative projects and helping teams to develop their skills.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary R&D team and will work closely with project managers, engineers and industrial partners.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Defining your own areas of research and drawing up technological development roadmaps, ensuring technical consistency across multiple projects.

  • Proposing the necessary developments and investments for your activities, including testing services.

  • Substantiating, presenting and supporting the legitimacy, relevance and feasibility of your research choices and investments.

  • Developing and fostering relationships with partners: manufacturers, universities, laboratories.

  • Providing advice, support, technical expertise and monitoring, both internally and externally.

  • Monitoring technology, standards and regulations to enable the integration of relevant innovations into our R&D roadmap and ensure the competitiveness of the solutions developed.

  • Participate in the development and selection of funded projects (Horizon Europe, Adème, etc.).

  • Participate in the development of service offerings and industrial collaborations.

  • Ensure the complete management of R&D projects from initialisation in the bidding phase through to delivery, ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets and applicable quality and safety standards.

  • Draft or validate internal reference documents (design guides, technical specifications) to enable knowledge capitalisation and skills development within teams.

  • Participate in professional organisations such as Cigré and IEC and scientific events: conferences, symposiums, round tables, think tanks, etc.

Profil

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering school or master's degree) in electrical engineering/energy or equivalent. PhD appreciated (high voltage, dielectrics, materials/gases)

  • 10-15 years' experience in high-voltage equipment, including gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), with proven expertise in the design, qualification, industrialisation and operation of this type of equipment and the study of SF6-free solutions/alternative gas assessment.

  • Proficiency in IEC 62271 standards and corresponding test methods.

  • Proficiency in tools and proven experience in project management processes.

  • Managerial skills: leadership, ability to mobilise a project team, teaching skills

  • Interpersonal skills: natural aptitude for collaborative work, ability to motivate or inspire others

  • Ability to synthesise information and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

  • Fluency in English

Start date: As soon as possible

  • Permanent contract (CDI)
