World Athletics is the global governing body for the sport of athletics, encompassing track, field, road, trail and cross‑country events. We work with 6 continental federations and 214 national member federations, guiding and growing the sport globally.

Missions

General overview of the position:

  • Overseeing and managing the exploitation of the digital media rights carveouts to serve the needs of World Athletics, Member Federations and athletes.

  • Management of internal/external Video Editors including budget allocation to ensure proper coverage of WA projects.

  • Researching and driving the acquisition of digital tech and content resources based on the identified needs of the department.

  • Monitoring of World Athletics YouTube Channels & providing actionable strategic insight.

  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of the overall content strategy for World Athletics platforms.

  • Fostering relationships with YouTube Account Managers, World Athletics+ partners and Broadcast partners, establish adequate guidance and support.

  • Event coverage with a focus on the World Athletics YouTube Channels and World Athletics+.

Digital Partnerships: Developing and driving relationships with YouTube and Broadcasting partners to evaluate the usage of World Athletics video rights carveouts, find new ways of working to maximize potential of World Athletics and set up processes in place for the optimization of resources.

Coordination: Under supervision of Head of Digital Media, coordinates and supports of video editors.

Content creation :

  • Develop and create a multimedia content strategy for the World Athletics YouTube Channels and World Athletics+

  • Plan and deliver content across World Athletics YouTube channels and World Athletics+

Monitoring: Understand monitoring and tracking tools to analyse and report on performance of the World Athletics YouTube Channel, World Athletics+ and the usage of the media rights carveouts.

Reporting from events :

  • Member of the World Athletics Editorial Team who will cover World Athletics Series events, if and when required by the Head of Digital Media

  • Reporting  on content creation from one-day circuit including but not limited to Wanda Diamond League, World Indoor Tour or Continental Tour meetings if and when required by the Head of Digital Media

  • Athlete-related projects, special events projects, World Athletics forums and Awards ceremonies …

  • Extensive travel.

Profil

  • Previous experience in sports digital media required with a focus on video content creation and coordination (minimum 2 years).

  • Related degree in journalism and/or digital media (journalism, digital marketing, media and communications).

  • Strong interest and knowledge in new media and digital technology with a focus on video content automation.

  • Experience working with YouTube (minimum 1 year).

  • Knowledge and understanding of algorithms, monitoring and analysing software including but not limited to Youtube Studio.

  • Strong organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects, an eye for detail and the ability to work accurately.

  • Excellent knowledge of the sport of athletics and its rules & terminology.

  • Excellent English both written and spoken (minimum C1).

  • Good French, any additional language is a plus.

  • Be a person of impeccable integrity, committed and loyal individual, lead in terms of commitment and work ethic by personal example.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communicator.
