Depixus is a young and fast-growing biotechnology company based in both Paris, France and Cambridge, UK. Our aim is to commercialize our proprietary innovative technology, MAGNA, for the fast, accurate, and inexpensive extraction of genetic and epigenetic information from single molecules of DNA and RNA. After a few years dedicated to the demonstration of the numerous applications of, Depixus has entered in its commercialization phase, in the view of commercializing its first generation of MAGNA instrument. Depixus currently has an open position for a full-time Lead Instrument Software Developer to lead the development and deployment of our instrument SWs. This is a rare opportunity to play an important role in the development of a cutting-edge technology.

Missions

Under the supervision of the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the continuous integration of new and central functionalities in the Embedded Software of a scientific-grade instrument.

 

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional individual who enjoys working in a highly collaborative R&D environment to join our multidisciplinary team. Working closely with Instrumentation, Mechanical and other Embedded SW Engineers, you will integrate, test and participate to the validation of new functionalities to scientific-grade instruments.

Overall, this role would suit candidates with excellent programming skills for complex embedded systems where performances are essential.

Responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with other Embedded Software Engineer, you will own the continuous integration of new functionalities, as prototyped and delivered by Data Scientists and Instrumentation Engineers.

  • Create and execute SW unit and integration test plans

  • Report progress regularly to Lead Engineer

  • Participate in instrument architecture, including significant contribution to the definition and execution of integration tests (of the complete instrument)

Profil

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Qualities

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study.

  • At least 2 years of experience as embedded software developer, preferably in the development of complex scientific instruments or complex hardware systems with critical performance specifications

  • Proficient in C++ in embedded software

  • Experience working with RTOS

  • Experience working on STM32 product family

  • Excellent English and French skills, spoken and written.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with QM

  • Good background in data processing (signal and/or image processing)

  • Knowledge of Labview would be appreciated to support prototyping

  • Notions of MBSE (Arcadia) would be appreciated
