Founded in 2015 by video game veterans and based in Lyon and Montreal, The Tiny Digital Factory is a video game creation studio specialized in motorsport.
With about thirty employees, the studio has been publishing its own mobile games since 2020 and collaborates with publishers on PC.
We are strengthening our teams and recruiting a Technical Director on a permanent contract.
Missions
Job Description:
As Technical Director, your mission is to define and oversee the implementation of technological solutions for our games. You are also responsible for recruiting and supporting the technical teams assigned to our various game projects.
Your missions will include:
Technology strategy and management :
Define the technological vision for the studio's projects
Implement a medium-term vision of technologies at the studio level
Make choices, evaluate risks and mitigation plans
Design and implement with the teams, the architectures of our projects
Define and implement with the technical artists the production and integration flows of game assets
Provide technical support to the teams (programmers and technical artists)
Act as a developer to collaborate on complex and high impact features and tools
Management of technological projects:
Report on the choices and progress of technological subjects to the teams and to the management
Manage relationships with technology partners
Represent the studio at developer conferences
Team management :
Manage the technical teams.
Identify and mobilize resources for the implementation of projects
Support the operational technical teams in their time estimates and deadlines
Supervise technical documentation
Profil
Candidate profile:
At least 8 years of professional experience in IT, including several years in video game development
Knowledge of game engines and production pipelines (Unity preferred)
Development and use of back-end (REST API, Docker, AWS or similar cloud services)
Graphics programming (render pipeline, shader development, GPU usage optimization especially on Android and iOS)
Project management and agile methodology
Leadership
Ownership and autonomy
Diplomacy and pedagogy
Ability to build trusting relationships
French and English
