SWM is looking for R&D Product Developer to contribute to the development of its actual, future fiber base products and innovative solutions. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help design, develop, and improve materials that meet tomorrow’s challenges while supporting SWM’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Missions
Product Development & Innovation
Lead product development projects from concept definition through industrialization.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Quality.
Manage projects to ensure delivery against performance, cost, and timeline objectives.
Support the qualification and successful launch of new products.
Customer Relationship & Customer needs Understanding
Manage R&D communication channel (assigned customers/product lines)
Understand & challenge customer needs and unmet needs to translate customer/market expectations into R&D projects (expected functionalities, technical features, …)
Contribute to customer satisfaction and retention by implementing customer visibility plan
Product Portfolio Management
Ensure product specifications and associated technical documentation remain accurate and compliant.
Provide technical support to Business, Sales and Quality teams.
Maintain product master data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings.
Identify and lead cost optimization initiatives to improve product competitiveness and profitability.
Profil
We are looking for an engineering profile, with a master's degree in Paper Engineering, Materials Chemistry, Chemical Process Engineering or equivalent completed by an experience in R&D, product development, research or manufacturing within the pulp & paper or related industry. Fluency in English is essential.
The position may also be suitable for a technician with several years of experience in R&D, production, process engineering, or manufacturing processes.
From a skills and knowledge perspective, we are looking for a Project Manager with strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a strong sense of innovation.

Position based in Quimperlé, Brittany, France
Permanent contract (CDI) – Exempt status
Fixed annual salary paid over 13 months, based on profile and experience, starting from €36,000
Supplementary pension plan (Article 83)
11 additional paid leave days (RTT – Working Time Reduction Days)
